A booking chart for the following calendar year is circulated
in agreed priority order during the autumn and before the
owners’ annual meeting in November, where the bookings for
the next year are confirmed.
Each owner has a priority for that year, and moves up a couple
of places each year: after a year at the top of the list, the
owner then starts at the bottom, and after six years the
cycle begins again.
Each owner can choose two weeks (separately or as a fortnight)
in the ‘high season’ (April to October inclusive), and one week
in the remainder of the year. By this route, thirty-six weeks
are firmly booked before the year begins.
Allowing time for winter maintenance, the remaining 14 weeks
are booked with priority in reverse order to the original chart,
so having last choice originally does have it's compensations.
Further weeks may be available but cannot be guarenteed.
|Priority for school holidays||A maximum of two shares may elect to take|
a school holiday preference.

General Comments About the Boat
Soulbury is a 58’ narrowboat built in 1997 with a semi traditional stern. The boat has gas central heating throughout via an Alde boiler in addition to a solid fuel stove. The engine also provides hot water. In the last 3 years, it has had a new engine and gearbox. The boat is carpeted throughout with vinyl in the bathroom and galley. LED lighting and curtains/blinds throughout.
In February 2019 it was re-painted from bare metal for £12K.
Rear Deck: Gas bottles and equipment under side compartments. Sliding hatch and steps down into into the rear galley and dinette area full size sink and drainer, fridge with freezer. Opposite the hob is a table that can be propped up for extra space. The dinette area has a side hatch with optional Perspex window, a solid fuel stove with chimney and a dinette which converts to a double bed. Two stools and more storage space.
Main bathroom has a shower over a good size corner bath, shower curtain, full size mirror, and a pump out toilet and hand basin. Cubby hole for storage and shelves above basin and cupboard below basin. In the corridor by the bathroom is an Alde central heating boiler.
Main Bedroom: In the centre of the boat is a fixed double bed that extends to a full 5' king size. Storage is provided in the wardrobes, under-bed drawers and cubby holes.
En-suite Bedroom/lounge area: Further forward is a second pump-out toilet and hand-basin and then into the front lounge area with flat screen TV/DVD combo, you can also have music playing to speakers throughout the boat. This space has 2 benches that can be used as single beds, or be converted into a king-size bed. Storage area. Wide opening French windows which lead to
Front Deck: without change of floor level. This area also has a lovely recently purchased cratch cover, useful in bad weather. Storage for BBQs, fuel, rope, hose. And also bespoke swing out board seats.

General comments by vendor
The boat is currently moored at Aqueduct Marina which is perfectly placed to explore the Llangollen, the Cheshire Ring or the Four-Counties Ring.
Some of the sharers have the expertise in dealing with small/particular maintenance issues, therefore costs have been low. Several owners have owned a share on Soulbury since she was launched. There is an annual meeting in September/October where we talk through the arrangements for the following year. Everyone gets the chance to chip in and decisions are made on a majority vote.
